This is the initial release of the driver. VAST Block CSI Driver lets you dynamically [provision](/develop/docs/provision-block-storage-with-vast-block-csi-driver-26) block volumes for your Kubernetes pods on a VAST cluster. To let your applications use block storage on a VAST cluster, you define a [block storage class](/develop/docs/provision-block-storage-with-vast-block-csi-driver-26#add-storage-class) and reference it in the PVC. Based on the storage class definition, the driver provisions a block volume for the PVC using a [preconfigured](/develop/docs/deploy-vast-block-csi-driver-26#configure-vast-cluster-for-vast-block-csi-driver) view on the VAST cluster. VAST Block CSI Driver can be used with Kubernetes 1.29.8 - 1.31.6 and VAST Cluster 5.3 - 5.4.x. **Note**: This driver version is not compatible with VAST Cluster 5.5.0 or later. VAST Block CSI Driver is deployed using a [Helm](https://helm.sh) chart. Check the deployment [requirements](/develop/docs/deploy-vast-block-csi-driver-26#vast-block-csi-driver-requirements) and follow these [steps](/docs-5-5/docs/steps-to-deploy-vast-block-csi-driver) to implement block volume provisioning with VAST Block CSI Driver.
