# Monitoring Volumes

VAST Cluster allows for [live monitoring](/docs-5-3/docs/en/monitoring-views) of block volumes.

To enable or disable live monitoring for a volume:

- In VAST Web UI, right-click the volume in the Element Store -> Volumes page and select Toggle Monitoring to toggle monitoring on or off.
- In VAST CLI, run the `volume modify` command with the `--enable-live-monitoring` or `disable-code-monitoring` option specified.
