In previous releases, SMB change notifications were supported for the top-level directory only. This feature is referred to as *SMB recursive change notifications*. To subscribe to such notifications, the client sets the SMB2_WATCH_TREE flag in the SMB2_CHANGE_NOTIFY request. This feature is by default disabled. To enable it on your cluster, contact VAST Support. The following limitations apply: - SMB recursive change notifications are not available for paths for which Global Namespace is configured. - Using SMB recursive change notifications for nested SMB shares may entail unexpected behavior. ## Live Monitoring of Block Volumes VAST Cluster 5.3.3 offers performance metrics and live monitoring for block volumes. Real-time collection of performance metrics can be enabled and disabled per volume. To do so: - In VAST Web UI, go to Element Store -> Volumes, right-click a volume and select Toggle Monitoring. - In VAST CLI, use the `--enable-live-monitoring` and `--disable-live-monitoring` options on the `volume modify` command in VAST CLI.
