# switch modify

This command updates the user name and password for a switch.

## Usage

```plaintext
switch modify --id ID
              --username USERNAME
              --password PASSWORD
```

## Required Parameters

| `--id ID` | Specifies which object to modify. |
| --- | --- |
| `--username USERNAME` | Specifies a user name that can be used to log into the switch OS. |
| `--password PASSWORD` | Specifies the password for the specified user name. |

## Example

```plaintext
vcli: admin> object modify --id 1
```
