# protectionpolicy delete

This command deletes a protection policy.

##### Usage

```plaintext
protectionpolicy delete --id ID
```

##### Required Parameters

| `--id ID` | Specifies which protection policy to delete. To retrieve protection policy IDs, use [protectionpolicy list](/docs-5-4/docs/en/protectionpolicy-list). |
| --- | --- |

##### Example

```plaintext
vcli: admin> protectionpolicy delete --id 2
