# qospolicy attach-user

This command assigns a [user QoS policy](/docs-5-4/docs/en/qos-overview) to a user.QoS Overview

## Usage

```plaintext
qospolicy attach-user --id POLICY_ID
                      --identifier-type USERID_TYPE
                      --identifier-value USERID_VALUE
                      [--name USER_NAME]
                      [--fqdn USER_FQDN]
```

## Required Parameters

| `--id POLICY_ID` | An ID of the QoS policy. |
| --- | --- |
| `--identifier-type USERID_TYPE` | The type of a user identifier that you are going to enter in `--identifier-value` to identify the user. Valid values: - `sid_str` for user's Security ID (SID). - `uid` for user's POSIX UID attribute. - `vid` for user's VAST ID. |
| `--identifier-value USERID_VALUE` | The user identifier. Enter an identifier of the type specified in `--identifier-type`. |

## Options

| `--name USER_NAME` | The name of the user for which the QoS policy will provision VAST Cluster performance. |
| --- | --- |
| `--fqdn USER_FQDN` | The Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the user's domain. |

## Example

```plaintext
vcli: admin> qospolicy attach-user --id 4 --name mytestuser --fqdn example.com --identifier-type sid_str --identifier-value <user's SID>
```
