A minimum of three CNodes must be allocated. Specify the `CNODE_IDS` as a comma separated list of CNode IDs. | | `--resource-preset LOW\|BALANCED\|MEM_HEAVY\|HIGH_COMPUTE` | Sets which resources to allocate from the specified CNodes. Specify one of the following options: - `LOW`. This option allocates approximately 25% of resources to the compute cluster from the CNodes you specify with the `--cnode-ids` parameter. There is no upper limit to the number of CNodes you can select with this option. - `BALANCED`. This option allocates approximately 50% of resources to the compute cluster from the CNodes you specify with the `--cnode-ids` parameter. This option requires that at least one CNode is not allocated to any compute cluster for every eight DBoxes in the VAST cluster. - `MEM_HEAVY`. Dedicates approximately 40% of CNode resources from the selected CNodes to the compute cluster, in a memory heavy configuration. This option requires that at least two CNodes are not allocated to any compute cluster for every eight DBoxes in the VAST cluster. - `HIGH_COMPUTE`. Dedicates 100% CNode resources from the selected CNodes to the compute cluster. This option requires that at least two CNodes are not allocated to any compute cluster for every eight DBoxes in the VAST cluster. | | `--static-ip-ranges STATIC_IP_RANGES` | A virtual IP pool to be statically allocated to the compute cluster nodes. These IPs are used by the compute cluster's nodes to communicate with each other. They should be valid external IPs. Allocate a minimum of one more than the number of CNodes you allocate using the `--cnode-ids` parameter. Specify `STATIC_IP_RANGES` as a series of comma separated pairs of start and end IP addresses. For example, to specify the two ranges 10.0.0.5-10.0.0.9 and 10.0.0.12-10.0.0.15: `--static-ip-ranges 10.0.0.5,10.0.0.9 10.0.0.12,10.0.0.15` | | `--netmask NETMASK` | Specify a network mask for the virtual IP pool specified by `--static-ip-ranges STATIC_IP_RANGES`. For example `--netmask 255.255.255.0`. | ## Options | `--cluster-cidr CLUSTER_CIDR` | A subnet internal to the compute cluster from which IPs are assigned to pods. Change this from the default if the default CIDR overlaps with IP ranges used by infrastructure or external services, as this can cause incorrect routing and connectivity failures. Specify `CLUSTER_CIDR` as a subnet in CIDR format. For example, `--cluster-cidr 10.20.0.0/16` Default: 10.42.0.0/16 | | --- | --- | | `--service-cidr SERVICE_CIDR` | A subnet internal to the compute cluster from which IPs are assigned to services. Change this from the default if the default CIDR overlaps with IP ranges used by infrastructure or external services, as this can cause incorrect routing and connectivity failures. Specify `SERVICE_CIDR` as a subnet in CIDR format. For example, `--service-cidr 10.20.0.0/16` Default: 10.43.0.0/16 | | `--backup-frequency BACKUP_FREQUENCY` | The frequency of the compute cluster's database backup, in minutes. Specify `BACKUP_FREQUENCY` as a positive integer. Default: 60 | | `--root-certificate ROOT_CERT` | Provides a root CA certificate for the compute cluster. The root CA certificate is one of three artifacts that the compute cluster uses to act as a certificate authority (CA): a root CA certificate, an intermediate CA certificate and an intermediate private key. VMS can autogenerate these certificates or you can use your own. If you do not provide all three artifacts, VMS autogenerates them. If you include this option, include also `--intermediate-certificate INT_CERT` and `--intermediate-key INT_KEY`. Specify `ROOT_CERT` as the file content of the root CA certificate in PEM format. | | `--intermediate-certificate INT_CERT` | Provides an intermediate CA certificate for the compute cluster. The intermediate CA certificate is one of three artifacts that the compute cluster uses to act as a certificate authority (CA): a root CA certificate, an intermediate CA certificate and an intermediate private key. VMS can autogenerate these certificates or you can use your own. If you do not provide all three artifacts, VMS autogenerates them. If you include this option, include also `--root-certificate ROOT_CERT` and `--intermediate-key INT_KEY`. | | `--intermediate-key INT_KEY` | Provides an intermediate key for the compute cluster. The intermediate key is one of three artifacts that the compute cluster uses to act as a certificate authority (CA): a root CA certificate, an intermediate CA certificate and an intermediate private key. VMS can autogenerate these certificates or you can use your own. If you do not provide all three artifacts, VMS autogenerates them. If you include this option, include also `--root-certificate ROOT_CERT` and `--intermediate-certificate INT_CERT`. | | `--default-gateway DEFAULT_GATEWAY` | Sets a default gateway for the compute cluster. | | `--vlan VLAN` | Tags the compute cluster network with a VLAN. Valid values: 1-4095. | ## Example ```plaintext vcli: admin> computecluster create --name my-compute-cluster --cnode-ids 1,2,3 --resource-preset BALANCED --static-ip-ranges 10.0.0.1,10.0.0.5 10.0.0.10,10.0.0.15 --netmask 255.255.255.0 ```
