vm replace

Prev Next

This command replaces VMs in a cloud-based cluster with identical new VMs, and copies data from to the new ones.

Usage

vcli: admin> vm replace --vm-external-ids VM_IDS
                        [--in-place]

Required Parameters

--vm-external-ids VM_IDS

Specifies the IDS of the VMs in the cloud-based cluster to be replaced with new VMs.

Options

--in-place

This option causes the existing VM to be rebooted by the cloud provider, instead of a new VM being provisioned.

Example

This example does an in-place (reboot) replace for VMs 1 and 2.

vcli: admin> vm replace --vm-external-ids "i-0c72b29a90f7100ac" --in-place
